Becoming an LPN
An LPN, or licensed practical nurse, is a medical practictioner that has proof of her educational background through her LPN certification. While some facilities may offer you employment without an LPN certification, your career as a nurse cannot advance unless you have taken the time to get your certification. It takes intense schooling and on-the-job training to gain your LPN certification. But once you have it, you can work as a nurse in any medical facility in the world.
Becoming an RN
The next step up the corporate ladder in the nursing profession is becoming an RN, or registered nurse. An RN is a medical professional that usually has at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing and has taken all of the necessary steps to become a registered medical professional. Your status as an RN will open up potential management positions and other advancements that being an LPN may not offer.
To be a successful nurse, you need to have compassion and an comprehensive understanding of the newest medical tools and technology. If you take your nursing career seriously, then you will take the steps needed to improve your status in the nursing field and maximize your career potential.
